Different Card, Different Day 12/18/17 December 18 2017, 0 Comments

Since it is one of my best friends' birthdays today, I made this card in her honor. She'll be getting it soon, so I feel safe in posting it here without ruining the surprise of her seeing her card before she sees me. hahaha.

The turtle pendant, the black and white beaded jewel embellishments and water-colored seashells are all part of what makes this card hers. Mostly, it's the sentiment because those good things in life ARE always better with her.

On the inside I placed a "Happy Birthday" blue Dazzle over a silver diamond shaped Dazzle. I still have plenty of space to write my own message.

If you want to find out how this card was made, using which supplies or how I possibly could design a card for you, please contact me.  Leave me a comment too and let me know what you think about today's card of my daily "Different Card, Different Day" blog series.

Happy Birthday Cards JQC500 - JQC503 November 06 2017, 0 Comments

These cards with beautiful sparkling butterflies are wishing happy thoughts. They were made using a Krazy Kreations card making kit that I purchased during the Scrapbooking Expo back in September in Marlborough, MA.

There were enough supplies in that kit to make four cards total. Plus there are plenty butterfly outline stickers left over for me to use on other projects.

The gift tag is chalkboard paper and the instructions asked for the person to write with their chalk writer. Since I found my chalk writer having chalk in it that wipes off too easily, I decided not to use it and instead used some stickers for my sentiments.

Here are all of the cards that this Kit allowed me to make. If you'd like to purchase them, click on the photo (I've inserted a direct link to each sales page).

Thank you for reading my blog. It was all about the cards that I made today and wanted to share their designs with you.

Different Card, Different Day #46 June 15 2017, 0 Comments

A Happy Birthday card is appropriate today, as it's my hubby's birthday. In a way I feel like I'm celebrating it with all of you by sharing this festive and simply made birthday card. It was stenciled using yellow, orange and blue/green distress inks on white cardstock. The lettering is black vinyl stickers that slightly raise off the paper.

Sometimes you don't need to make an elaborate detailed card with multiple mediums to get your beautiful card made. Sometimes it's just some ink, stencils and stickers.

Different Card, Different Day #38 June 07 2017, 0 Comments

This watercolored whale is happy to wish someone a Happy Birthday. The background papers were chosen because they reminded me of water splashing...like what a whale does in the water. hahaha.

The cupcake has pink flower-like feeling flowers because of a product I glued to the image called Flower Soft.

The edging around the card, whale and "Happy Birthday" was done using alcohol inks and gives them a dimensional look. The candle was made from a small scrap micro fine glitter paper by Krazy Kreations and colored using Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers. The outline sticker image of the candle is also their design. I liked the idea of taking a flower pot image and turning it into a cupcake.

Different Card, Different Day #26 May 26 2017, 0 Comments

This happy birthday card was made for one of my best friend's mom's. I knew she liked the ocean so I decided to make her a lighthouse with starry night theme.

The lighthouse is a stamp with small beautiful script writing. I shaded the areas on the lighthouse with black watercolor paint to give it some dimension. The blue waves and black stars were cut from punches. The blue, purple and green background hues are Nuance pigment die mixed with water. The white squares that make up the starry night pattern are embossed with white powder after stenciling it on.

The inside of the card has a green calligraphy message written. The black turtle is a hand drawn image of mine that my mother scanned into her Silhouette machine. I glued him into place.

The blue shells were made with a vinyl cling stamp and blue embossing powder. When the light hits them right, they pop off the page.

Different Card, Different Day #25 May 25 2017, 0 Comments

Birthday wishes are heading someone's way with a sweet card like this one.  The cupcake and candle are black outline stickers from Krazy Kreations that I colored in on their super fine glitter paper. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol inks to do my coloring and shading on this card. The papers were left over from a card making kit I subscribe to and went lovely with the copper metallic brads and gold stripe border Dazzles stickers.

Different Card, Different Day #13 May 13 2017, 0 Comments

A very cute Happy Birthday card is featured in today's daily "Different Card, Different Day" blog. Three blue elephants are spouting up water and celebrating in their zig-zagged panel. The background is made from golden metallic embossed paper. If you look closely you'll see the music notes. This card has a couple different shaped dies from Maker's Mart (the card making club that I'm a member of).

There are many details that make this card a special one. Once I have a die shape, like the elephant, or frame...or scalloped circles, I can continue to make various cards with unlimited possibilities. As I show more cards in this blog series, I hope that you start to see the similarities AND differences in my use of art supplies and techniques.

Different Card, Different Day #8 May 08 2017, 0 Comments

This birthday card was made for one of my dad's best friends. If you couldn't guess it, he loves old cars. (Me too!!!) So, I sent him one with these really awesome black and bright metallic blue cars.

Gears, arrows, fuzzy dice and racing checked stripes made this card seem like something from the "good 'ole days".

The inside message came with best wishes. And he IS a classic.

Different Card, Different Day #1 May 01 2017, 0 Comments

Today's "Different Card, Different Day #1" is the first of many daily blogs to come. I decided that since I create and design so many cards and often have people tell me how much they enjoy looking at them, I am posting a card a day for as long as I can. My goal is to not skip a day and of course to inspire artisically.  I promise that I won't write much. It's more like a brag page to post my art.  So enjoy!

A smidge about this card: It's a 100th birthday card for Auntie Jo that I was commissioned to make for her upcoming birthday party this weekend. I was told she's a beauty and a lover of all things pretty...and that she loves golf. I'm sure you'll see the red flag in the golf hole with "100" on it now, if you hadn't already. It was my subtle way of putting a golf thought into a beautiful lacy, flowery and butterfly filled card.

I'm honored to have had the opportunity to make this for Auntie Jo.

If you want to find out more details on how this card was made, using which supplies or how I possibly could design a card for you, please contact me.  Leave me a comment too and let me know what you think about day #1's card.

Thanks for reading my blog. Enjoy your day.
