Different Card, Different Day 2/19/18 February 19 2018, 0 Comments

I wish you love. This is a card made for my 96 year old Gram Lucy. She hasn't been feeling the best lately and I wanted to send her some love.

The similarities between yesterdays blogged card and todays are many. The two ladies on the receiving side of these are sisters. 96 and 95 years old. Wow! right!?!

Different Card, Different Day 2/18/18 February 18 2018, 0 Comments

I wish you love. This very colorful card is meant to send someone special to me, a message of love. My aunt Ann, who at 95 is not feeling the greatest and needed something bright in her world. So I made this card for her.

The blue paper ribbon/cord was wrapped around the matching blue paper before sticking it to the card front.  A gold swirl is from one of my die cutting shapes (made by using metallic paper) and partially sits under the popped up flower picture.

I matted the flower picture in matching blue and green papers to the outside border of this card. The actual drawing comes from the sample backing sheet of a child's coloring activity book. You know, the ones with the black velvet that you get at your local craft stores. I had this (as well as other images) that I set aside to use one day.  I added sparkly metallic pens to the drawing and made it have more depth with shading. A white pearl jewel sticks on to the center of the pink flower as added dimension.  And I'd like to point out the bumble bee flying around the top. Just in case you missed it.

Different Card, Different Day 2/17/18 February 17 2018, 0 Comments

From the heart with some hugs and kisses. XOXO. This watercolor painted little blondie in a blue dress and matching pigtail bows is holding up a pink heart with love.

This was one of the inserts from the cards I made by using my February Paper Pumpkin kit. The kits come with assortments of cards based on the time of the year and I add on handpainted touches like this little sweetheart of a girl. If you are interested in joining, let me know and I'll see the deals I can get for you.

Different Card, Different Day 2/16/18 February 16 2018, 0 Comments

This little mouse was probably my favorite Valentine's Day design on my cards this year, for the holiday. I think it's because he is so cute. Cuter than the rest of the cute things I've made. The watercolor paints were painted using different colors for shirts, pants, buttons and patches on the many mice I've placed on cards this year.

The mouse is a rubber stamp that I have from StampinUp!, dated 1996. I typically make more than one stamped image at a time and utilize an assembly line type set up. I can paint many cards at once.

On the original stamp the word "Hooray" is arched between the mouse's paws. I blocked out the word by using Washi tape when inking with my StazOn ink, so it doesn't appear. I placed small red hearts that I had from heart shaped punches. Now it looks like he's juggling.  Cute!

Different Card, Different Day 2/15/18 February 15 2018, 0 Comments

"You are Loved". This Valentine's Day card is adorable and classic. The white and grey marbled background paper compliments the pink, purple and black coloring of the card, A black and white polka-dotted ribbon is tied in a bow, fitting perfectly between all the black outline Dazzle stickers.

Although Valentine's Day has passed, love is still in the air. Mostly because I still have cards to show you. So for a couple more days, enjoy the love themed art.

Different Card, Different Day 2/11/18 February 11 2018, 0 Comments

"You & Me" with a playful cat theme. By the looks of it, the cat sitting in the bottom right of this card is looking up with love.

As the card opens up, the center cut out pops forward into view. The card is meant to fold this way and pretty much pops its way into shape as it is opened.

Using a play on words "Love Mew" appears under the branch with the cat, sitting in the moonlight. A few butterflies flutter up the right side and a couple of birds are flying along on the left side.

This was a very fun card to make.

Different Card, Different Day 2/10/18 February 10 2018, 0 Comments

This "LOVE" card unfolds from the heart. Literally...

The heart shapes are die cut perfectly on this card to fit into one another. When opened completely, the inside looks like this:

"You make my heart happy" and "Happy Valentine's Day" are the two sentiments stamped in Rich Razzleberry water-based dye ink by Stampin' Up! which happens to match the color palette of the papers used perfectly.

The golden paper used to make these die cut shapes is metallic and shines. Like most of the rest of the card, the edges of the big heart is colored in with distress inks.

Different Card, Different Day 2/9/18 February 09 2018, 0 Comments

Ah, "Love". Is it in the air now that it's almost Valentine's Day? I feel it because I seem to be continually making these cards themed with love.

Inside "Nothing Beats This" is centered on white and grey marbled paper. The dark red border matches the front side of the card perfectly.

A beautiful white flower with yellow paper for its background shows through the clear bubble gem. You'll notice how the layers above it pop off the card front.

A white crochet style flower ribbon runs up the left side of the card and really adds so much detail to it. A sheer blue/green ribbon is tied in a bow and sits on top of the word "Love".

Different Card, Different Day 2/8/18 February 08 2018, 0 Comments

This very red Valentine's Day card simply asks..."Be Mine". Or is it telling? Either way, it's one of the great lines of the holiday and I thought it fit perfectly into this design.

The red background is a blend of distress inks applied to the paper. I try to add more color in the areas that I know the die cut white roses were going to be placed. This way they will show up more vividly.

Inside "Happy Valentine's Day" is stamped in Rich Razzleberry water-based dye ink by Stampin' Up! which happened to be included in my last monthly card kit by Paper Pumpkin.

A large bronze colored brad is through the red and white polka-dotted flag while three stick on gems are placed in the lower right corner. The layers of paper form a frame around the roses and make this very eye pleasing Valentine's Day card.

Different Card, Different Day 2/7/18 February 07 2018, 0 Comments

This "Love You" card was just glowing in the early morning sunlight this morning. Almost like the cup of coffee with flower vase came to life. You can really notice the embossed outline of the images in the natural light.

Here it is in regular filtered light. Such a pretty card to show someone you love them.
