Different Card, Different Day 2/15/18 February 15 2018, 0 Comments

"You are Loved". This Valentine's Day card is adorable and classic. The white and grey marbled background paper compliments the pink, purple and black coloring of the card, A black and white polka-dotted ribbon is tied in a bow, fitting perfectly between all the black outline Dazzle stickers.

Although Valentine's Day has passed, love is still in the air. Mostly because I still have cards to show you. So for a couple more days, enjoy the love themed art.

Different Card, Different Day 1/17/18 January 17 2018, 0 Comments

Happy Birthday. Today's blog features this pretty blue and purple starred and pearl swirled card. As I was designing it, I thought it was kinda like a "dreamy" card and started liking it from the moment I picked the background paper out of my Maker's Mart monthly card making kit.

Sometimes I think that being a member of something like a card making club gives you the opportunity to work with things you may not have selected for yourself, nor have in your own supplies. The star sequins are one of those items and look perfect on this card.

Those silver metallic looking diamonds are "Dazzles" stickers backed with blue paper. The small bits of purple in the flowers are watercolored in.

Different Card, Different Day 1/7/18 January 07 2018, 0 Comments

A golden butterfly with turquoise blue wings sits perfectly against the white embossed background. When the brown distress ink was applied to the edges, the embossed images popped up off the page.

Two purple brads sit on either side of the "Friend" sentiment. A dark blue ribbon bands across the page and has a blue and silver paisley type design above. A golden acetate doily backs the white embossed panel. I cut the doily and used all that I could, which allowed for it to appear on both sides.

Inside, a hanging blue and silver similar design to the card's front.

Different Card, Different Day 12/23/17 December 23 2017, 0 Comments

Without much explanation on these Christmas cards, I'd love to show a bunch of pictures of what I've been up to this past month. Making Christmas cards! And lots of them!!!

The inside of this card matches the front. I sliced an old Christmas card that someone sent me from a prior year and upcycled it to make this one.

Happy Holidays with a blue palm tree.

I chose to trim the inside of this card with a plaid paper that had matching colors to the front side.

The gingerbread people are lined up and look like they've gathered around the tree. They are also popped up with foam adhesive and stick up off the card.

Speaking of gingerbread men, this one is wishing you a Merry Christmas with candy buttons and bowties.

These next few will have similar flowers because they came from the same Dazzles stickers sets. Each were water colored.

And lastly, I have a blue snowy window view. Let it snow.

Different Card, Different Day 12-06-17 December 06 2017, 0 Comments

These two cuties are sending "Warm Wishes" as they sled their way through a snowflake Winter scene. The cool colors of blues, greens and purples fill the sky like you'd imagine the colors of the Northern Lights would. I was lucky enough to see it myself on a trip to Alaska in Denali National Park around 2004. What I'd like to call..."some of Nature's magnificent art".

On the inside, a cute penguin in a light blue-green stocking cap flies over "Celebrate the Season".

Different Card, Different Day 12-04-17 December 04 2017, 0 Comments

Snowflakes...are Winter's butterflies. This beautiful card has so much sparkle in the details. Like these little raised butterfly's below.

Each of the dots are made using Stickles. This process takes time to dot each one and wait for a few hours while they dry but the ending result makes it worth it.

Different Card, Different Day 11-29-17 November 29 2017, 0 Comments

Being so close to the end of Autumn I felt the need to design a card exactly like this one. Utilizing beautiful orange, gold and red fall-ish colors.

The black vinyl stickers are called "Dazzles". They are super fun and easy to work with. The little gold butterfly is popped up with a foam adhesive dot. Also, jute twine is tied in a bow on the white gift tag, just below three large diamond tip pointed gems.

Different Card, Different Day #39 June 08 2017, 0 Comments

Spread your wings. Two butterflies are doing just that as they fly around the front of this upbeat summery card. The papers are colorful, some with deep hues. They contrast with the soft pink colors but go so well together. An elegant Dazzles metallic gold strip runs up the left side of the card.

To get the flowers to look this way on the stained glass background I used Glossy Accents. It is 3-dimensional glue that holds its place as it's drying.

Different Card, Different Day #35 June 04 2017, 0 Comments

Forever friends is a great card with a happy tone. I loved drawing this lady figure so much that I made three sketches total of her. This card has one of them. Maybe if you follow me enough you will see the three show up in future blogs.

The papers and some embellishments came from Makers Mart card kit that I am a monthly member of. They inspired me to cut the paper on a diagonal angle. I added a couple of hinge Dazzles and a summer series mock postage stamp with beach chair.

Different Card, Different Day #32 June 01 2017, 0 Comments

Love your life. The birds aren't in the cage. They are free, perching on their branches...loving their lives. The pink paper in the background has watercolor brushed strokes of various shades running across horizontally. The birdcage has metallic pink dots in the gold scrollwork and some of the leaves plus rose are backed in colored paper making an overall cheerful looking card.

The banner and rose are popped off the page with foam adhesive dots. This gives the card a dimensional look.
