Different Card, Different Day 2/8/18 February 08 2018, 0 Comments

This very red Valentine's Day card simply asks..."Be Mine". Or is it telling? Either way, it's one of the great lines of the holiday and I thought it fit perfectly into this design.

The red background is a blend of distress inks applied to the paper. I try to add more color in the areas that I know the die cut white roses were going to be placed. This way they will show up more vividly.

Inside "Happy Valentine's Day" is stamped in Rich Razzleberry water-based dye ink by Stampin' Up! which happened to be included in my last monthly card kit by Paper Pumpkin.

A large bronze colored brad is through the red and white polka-dotted flag while three stick on gems are placed in the lower right corner. The layers of paper form a frame around the roses and make this very eye pleasing Valentine's Day card.

Different Card, Different Day 2/7/18 February 07 2018, 0 Comments

This "Love You" card was just glowing in the early morning sunlight this morning. Almost like the cup of coffee with flower vase came to life. You can really notice the embossed outline of the images in the natural light.

Here it is in regular filtered light. Such a pretty card to show someone you love them.

Different Card, Different Day 2/4/18 February 04 2018, 0 Comments

When you want to say "Thank you" to someone, maybe saying it with this watercolored card makes it more special. I hope it did anyways to the friend of mine that I made this for. He needed a thank you card and wanted it to specifically say his personal message on the inside.

I carefully stamped the letters in StazOn ink and inked the edges in brown distress inks before matting on similar colored papers to the front of the card. What a great way to say "Thank you".

Different Card, Different Day 12/28/17 December 28 2017, 0 Comments

Wishes come true. Some people look at a dandelion as a weed. Others look at them as "wishes". When I saw the pink moon paper and how it was separated into four squares with half rounded edges, I immediately loved the window panel look it turned into. And that moon is HUGE!

I glittered the dandelions with glue and fine glitter by Heartfelt Creations. This gave them that ultra blue glow.

Each of the flowers have that three dimensional look as a result of adding that fine glitter. Heartfelt Creations also makes the glue I used. I especially like the fine tip that it comes with.

Different Card, Different Day 11-29-17 November 29 2017, 0 Comments

Being so close to the end of Autumn I felt the need to design a card exactly like this one. Utilizing beautiful orange, gold and red fall-ish colors.

The black vinyl stickers are called "Dazzles". They are super fun and easy to work with. The little gold butterfly is popped up with a foam adhesive dot. Also, jute twine is tied in a bow on the white gift tag, just below three large diamond tip pointed gems.

Different Card, Different Day #53 June 22 2017, 0 Comments

When you want to send a friend a hello, this card is the kind that will reach them in a positive and summer-like way. Three striped triangle banners are secured on with white brads as they fly over the beautiful scalloped belt that runs across this warm greeting card. Flowers and butterflies, some with shiny gold are all designed to make this card a unique way to say hello to a friend.

This sympathy card is decorated with blue hand painted flowers and purple metallic dragonflies.

A lot of the smaller flowers are dotted with silver Stickles to give the center's a three dimensional look. Some are even popped up with foam adhesive dots. The blue ribbon matches the blue paper and was placed on the card front to appear as three separate panels against the black polka-dotted paper in the background.

The flowers were colored in using Wink Of Stella pens.

Different Card, Different Day #50 June 19 2017, 0 Comments

Cards that say "hello" are always a favorite in my mind. They are so universal and can be sent to whoever and whenever. As we are in the middle of summer, I'm always thinking flowers and how they make me so happy. The music sheet notes in the background seem to be playing for these three flowers to grow.

The flower heads are popped up and held into place with light brown brads. The "Hello" sentiment is popped up off the page using a couple of foam adhesive dots.

The light blue border frame is one of my favorite cutting dies to use.

Different Card, Different Day #36 June 05 2017, 0 Comments

"Lovely you" pops off the page in metallic gold and a purple felt flower pops even higher.

This card is meant to send someone a warm wish. The papers, beautiful birds and flower embellishments are from Maker's Mart. In each corner a silver Dazzle was placed to frame the card. I purchase these from Paperwishes.com and continue to find card making supplies there on a regular basis.

Go green when saying you love someone. (Like that, huh?)  I was cutting some dies with my Spellbinders machine and when I put these flowers and leaves together with brads, I saw the design of this card in my head immediately. I took one of the flowers negative cut left on the paper and used it as a stencil with my alcohol inks as a background.
