Different Card, Different Day 1/4/18 January 04 2018, 0 Comments

Splish Splash! This is a fun card that is very colorful and has a few different sea critters swimming around. One of my favorites...a turtle. The card was designed with the idea of looking into a window under the sea. The actual ocean panel is partially black velvet and taken from one of my nieces and nephews coloring books. I did color it with them one day during a visit.

The hibiscus flowers and blue shell are puff layer stickers. (Not the same kinda puff stickers I had as a kid...They've come a looooooong way and are so incredibly dimensional).

Different Card, Different Day 1/1/18 January 01 2018, 0 Comments

As we ring in the New Year, I'll remind everyone that "You are fintastic" with this adorable fishy shaker card. The blue, green and clear beads are trapped in the circle with the fish behind clear acetate.  Shake the card and the beads move around.

The papers are designed by Heartfelt Creations. I adore this collection by them.

Different Card, Different Day 08-05-17 August 05 2017, 0 Comments

This is my dad's birthday card...today is his birthday. Happy Birthday to the best dad! (It must be true, the card says so).

The ocean pier scene is drawn after a painting that my grandmother was working on in acrylics, from years ago. I believe that my cousin Bob has the original now and volunteered to finish it. I liked it so much I drew a copy of it in pencil as I sat and visited with my grandmother one day. That sketch was then painted with watercolors, framed with papers and topped off with the final embellishments. I love the "Dad" that is vertical on the copper colored chain that runs up the right side of this card.

It's probably one of my favorite cards that I've made.  Here's the inside. Just a personal note but look how I used the corrugated cardboard with a heart cut out of it as my frame to my words. I thought it was unique.

And lastly, here's the envelope that I hand delivered to him. The pig was just a sign of affection and one of my favorite barnyard animals and nothing to do with an indication that Dad is an oinker. None what-so-ever.
