Different Card, Different Day 1/23/18 January 23 2018, 0 Comments

Hello from the heart. This sweet Valentine's Day card is wishing a very heart-filled hello from this little girl in the yellow dress.  She comes from a 1996 Stampin' Up! rubber stamp set and was colored in with my watercolor paints. Very similar to the blog yesterday about the mouse stamp. The popped up envelope with heart is from my new stamp set by Paper Pumpkin in my latest club kit.

The golden "hello" with it's white shadow image behind it comes from The Stamps Of Life by Stephanie Barnard cutting dies. One is cut out from white cardstock and the other a metallic gold paper. She said in her video on her website that this is in her own handwriting. I thought that was pretty cool.

The black stripe with hearts is Washi tape wrapped around to the backside. This prevents the tape from ever peeling up on the sides of the card.

Inside I stamped "Happy Valentine's Day" and backed it on pink and red paper matching papers.

Different Card, Different Day 1/19/18 January 19 2018, 0 Comments

I'm wild about you. Of course I am! This adorable little chubby panda (designed by Stephanie Barnard of The Stamps Of Life a.k.a. TSOL) is sitting in a forest of green leaves and hearts.

To give the panda this coloring I used my Tim Holtz black distress ink.  The panda started as two pieces of cardstock that were die cut with TSOL cutting dies and glued together after colored. The forefront image was rubbed with the black ink in the areas only needed. This was super easy due to the cuts made in the right places by the cutting die. For example, his neck under his head has a slice going almost across the whole neckline. Slip a scrap paper under the area you don't want to shade in by slipping in through the slit. His white belly is a piece that gets cut out from the cutting die and I decided to pop it up off the card front with a foam adhesive dot.  His little pink nose was colored in with a super fine pink marker.

Here's the inside of the card. I backed this adorable black StazOn ink stamped panda with a matching green paper from the front of the card. The sentiment "you make life bearable" is one of the sayings from the same stamp set.

Different Card, Different Day 1/16/18 January 16 2018, 0 Comments

Awww! "We need each other". By the looks in these little guys eyes, they DO need each other.

"Let's eat!" and "I'm so Egg-cited" are part of my bacon & eggs stamp and cutting die set from this month's club kit by The Stamps Of Life - Stephanie Barnard. You've probably seen a couple days prior of bacon and eggs themed cards, as you'll see some more in today's blog. Many similarities but yet everyone of them are different.  Let's start out with some eggs.

In one of the prior blogs I explained how I painted about 20 eggs and 20 bacon ahead of time. I made a little assembly line and just painted each of the colors on with my watercolors or Tim Holtz Distress Alcohol inks. In some cases I popped the egg yolk off the page by applying Glossy Accents to the circular shape yolk and filled it in. The ending result is a clear bubble over your image. Like the black checkered yolk pictured above.

Here's the inside of that card. "Eggscellent!"

I stamped one of the egg stamps onto the grey background page and used three of the same die-cut eggs. The blue and grey background page completely changed the look from some of the other cards that happen to say the same sentiment.  Another way to give similar cards variances is to make some landscape (held horizontally - long sides on top and bottom) and some portrait style (held vertically -long sides on left and right).

Placing a "Happy Happy Happy" stamp in the lower right corner gave me the idea for the inside. Although it's not a part of the club kit set all the other stamps in this blog are from, it went perfectly with "Show your sunny side".

"I'm so Egg-cited for you!". What a great way to express that "Happy Happy Happy" feeling. Then just for fun I stamped two eggs behind the sentiment block, leaving plenty of room to write a personal message.

Although the phrase is different...and I just love this one "Have an Eggcellent Birthday"...this card has a VERY familiar design to some of the others. Changing the ribbon is another quick way for a different color theme too.

"Even if you are fried let your sunny side show".  Notice the ribbon on that one is white and yellow...like an egg!

"You're bacon me crazy" and "You must be yolking" are clever ways of putting it!

And lastly, I'd like to show you another "Don't go bacon my heart" card (a few others were posted in prior blogs over the past couple of days).

The eyeballs! Thanks to Nuvo Crystal Drops I can make these types of eyeballs. Just drop a little white onto your image and while it is still wet, dab the black onto the surface and it creates the pupil.

For the inside of this card I stamped a slice of bacon with my black StazOn ink. I thought the "We need each other" stamp was a perfect sentiment to go with the front of the card.

Different Card, Different Day 1/14/18 January 14 2018, 0 Comments

This is such a cute and clever bacon and egg themed card. If you've been following along with my blog, you'll know that I've been having fun with my latest stamp and cutting die set by Stamps Of Life. Check out the past couple of days blogs to see all the other cards I've designed so far.

Let's do breakfast (or lunch). Love the invitation idea. I of course couldn't personally send this to my family or friends without getting a weird look...I don't eat either bacon or eggs!!! lol.

Daydreaming about bacon. I know lots of people that do this. My brother and his wife for example. They have an annual party solely in honor of bacon. "Bacon Armageddon" is what they call it.

Here's a close up to show that you can pop up the whole image like the bacon or you can chose to pop up just a part, like the yellow yolk.

Different Card, Different Day 1/13/18 January 13 2018, 0 Comments

Don't go BACON my heart. How clever! Here are three cards today that all show you different ways to say the same thing. Change the papers around, add embellishments like brads, ribbons and eyeballs.

No matter how you put it together, this stamp and cutting die set from Stamps Of Life by Stephanie Barnard is fun.

Over the past couple days I've blogged about this set. I think I have one more day or so left of designing cards like these. Then off to start making Valentine cards for this year. In a way, today's bacon cards could be used as a V-Day card. I must have  subconsciously started to think about it. hahaha.

Oh, the eyeballs were made using Nuvo black and white. I love this technique of dropping the white liquid first, then dotting the black into it while still wet. They hold their round shape and don't bleed into one another. I also could have used googly eyes but couldn't find any in my supplies.

Different Card, Different Day 1/12/18 January 12 2018, 0 Comments

I'm so Egg-cited for you! Today's blog has more than just one card and is in continuation of yesterday's blog where I explained I had just gotten my new club kit Stamps Of Life set by Stephanie Barnard and was making a whole bunch of bacon and egg themed cards (with multiple occasions).

That black skillet was cut out of black cardstock and then edges were drawn on with a silver metallic pen.

Of course there has to be a birthday card. And it has to use the word "Eggcellent"!

Don't forget, when you want to pop your image off the page, use an adhesive foam strip or dot.

So, enough about eggs for today...onto bacon.

Let's say that again...

Oh, I just love the inside sentiment. Makes me laugh.

Different Card, Different Day 1/11/18 January 11 2018, 0 Comments

Today's blog has a set of bacon and egg themed cards using my new stamps and cutting dies from Stamps Of Life by Stephanie Barnard.  I loved the set that came with my monthly club kit so much that I ended up purchasing the add on sentiments stamp set. This way I can make many different cards, for many different occasions and all with bacon and eggs on them.

"We go together like bacon & eggs". There are many different ways to show that you can say the same thing.

Change the papers. When you don't have any that match the theme...stamp some up and design your own, like this orange background above. I randomly stamped eggs and bacon to fill the page.

To pop up the bacon or an egg, I stuck a foam adhesive strip or dot behind the image.

These next two have a plate designed into their look. I drew a border of squiggles around the plates rim. I also shaded the plates with distress inks.

I switched the plate from the left to the right to give it a different look. I also used strips of paper on one for the sentiments vs. stamping it directly onto the background paper.

And in case you are wondering how I started it all...I had to make all those little bacons and eggs. Here's a look at my workspace assembly line while watercoloring them all.

First I stamped them with my StazOn black ink, then proceeded to paint.
