A picture is worth... April 17 2014, 0 Comments

Have you ever stopped to think about the process of a painting? How long that process can be? I have.  All the way from start to finish.  First the artist needs the idea, then needs to capture it on and with whatever medium of art they choose. I'm in the middle of one of these painting processes right now and aiming towards finishing it up. The painting is completed after several days of picking up the brush and putting it down, but the matting, framing and finding it a home is still in the works.  Maybe you'll want to be a part of this one and help me finish it up so I can move on to my next project.

Here's the painting:

Yes, it's a tree.

I have so many ideas for this that I'm not sure which one to go with. And sometimes, others ideas and suggestions are so awesome that they may blow my original thoughts outta the water. Share with me what you would do if you had this in your hands to mat and frame.  What color matting would you pick?  What shape would you cut the mat? Oval? Rectangle? A what kind of frame would you use around this 9"x12" painting? Would you even put it under glass or leave it exposed?

So I end this with the subject title, "A picture is worth..." Maybe a thousand words, just like I've exactly calculated this blog post to come out to.  Count them, you'll see.  (That I'm lying).

But seriously, a painting is worth every effort that has been put into it, through all of its processes. The person that ends up with it on their wall will agree. I will show you what I mean by updating this blog with the finalized painting.

And now for any ideas from all of my creative and artistic friends.
