A cute owl perched on a sunflower branch wearing her nurse cap saying "hello" November 04 2016, 0 Comments

This cute bright eyed owl is a nurse perched on a branch of a sunflower. The message on the front is a simple "hello". The card was made for a dear life-long friend of my father, Carlene. He was going for a visit today and wanted to bring her something. So he asks if we can make her a card. This is our card.

Carlene was a nurse and my father thought it would be awesome to represent that somehow in her card. So we created a little nurse cap and glued it onto the owl's head (leaving one little ear sticking out).

The background was stenciled with green swirls and a blue butterfly. Corkboard tape was used for the sunflower stalk and green Washi tape for its branch. The sunflower has a green material button that came off of an old winter coat. It made for a great flower center and repurposed that button.

Inside, a black stamped butterfly flutters over the blue block letter stickers spelling "Be Happy".

In my opinion, the best part of this card is that I didn't make it alone, I made it with my father. It was how we spent the first couple hours together after breakfast this morning.

As you can see, I modified my signature stamp to include his name. He was the executive designer while I assisted.

Thanks for reading my blog. Enjoy your day.
