A Welcoming Home Card for New Puppy Savannah September 25 2016, 1 Comment
Welcome home to a sweet little 8 week old pup named Savannah. She's the newest addition to my friends family and I wanted to welcome her home with a doggie card, personalized just for them. The inside of the card has two sets of dog prints. The little ones are hers and the bigger ones belong to her older brother Hudson.
My message inside was clear, even with all those brown smudges, it reads, "Double the trouble...twice the mud!". Of course I meant "FUN" because all of us dog lovers know how much fun our pups are. Remember, I have two of my own (Barsky the Yorkie and Keelin the Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix). And most of the time when it comes to my dogs, I'm sentimental and over emotional on all levels. They are my fur-babies. So, if someone gave me a homemade card like this, I'd appreciate it for sure. I made it because I know how these personalized cards can brighten someone's day and you know I'm all about making others smile. That, and creating art.
There was a matching "puppy love" envelope with pink alcohol ink rubbed onto the edges and lightly feathered in towards it's center. The color was complementary to the lighter shade of pink on the cards' edges. Some more pink was added in the "LOVE" sign by tracing around the paws' edges with a Stabilo Point 88 Neon fine 0.4 pink marker. A dot of bling was added to the puppy's pink collar.
The backside of the envelope flap had a "woof" stenciled. The "Savannah" bone on the front of the card pops up with a pop-dot and sits in front of a stenciled doghouse and bone. "Congrats on your new puppy" was stamped with a Studio G alphabet rubber stamp set.
Savannah is pictured below with Hudson...this is what puppy love is all about.
Welcome home Savannah! You're just too cute!!!
Thanks for reading and enjoy your day.
